School and University Cleaning in San Bernardino County

Custodial programs for universities, colleges and schools across the West Valley, Central and East Valley and the High Desert.

The short answer

EBS Maintenance provides school and university cleaning in San Bernardino County for universities, health-science schools, community colleges and K-12 campuses, from Rancho Cucamonga and Fontana to San Bernardino, Redlands, Loma Linda and Victorville. Crews clean classrooms, labs, lecture halls, restrooms, cafeterias and gyms after hours, with day porters and summer projects as needed. All crews come from EBS's Corona office, and supervisors inspect every campus and log the results in eHub.

Colleges and universities from Rancho Cucamonga to Victorville

San Bernardino County's higher-education campuses are spread across a large area, and each one asks something different of a custodial program.

Health-science teaching in Loma Linda

Loma Linda is a regional medical city built around Loma Linda University, a Seventh-day Adventist health-sciences university, with its academic medical center and children's hospital; the VA's Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Veterans' Hospital is also in town. Health-science teaching rooms often resemble clinical space, and the cleaning approach reflects that.

Skills and simulation rooms are cleaned like exam rooms: tables, rails and touchpoints are disinfected with EPA-registered products left wet for their labeled contact times, crews follow Cal/OSHA's bloodborne pathogens standard, Title 8 section 5193, and sharps containers and regulated waste are left to the program's staff. Lecture halls and offices around them follow a standard academic scope.

School and university cleaning in San Bernardino County, valley by valley

In the West Valley, school districts rank among the biggest employers in Fontana and Chino, and Chaffey College is one of Rancho Cucamonga's principal employers. Evening crews there are timed to the end of after-school programs and night classes, with commuter-heavy buildings cleaned as they empty.

In the Central and East Valley, Cal State San Bernardino anchors the University District, the University of Redlands is one of Redlands' largest employers, and San Bernardino's school and college districts are among the county seat's biggest employers. University buildings here often need overnight work for libraries and student centers.

In the High Desert, school districts are major employers in Apple Valley and Hesperia, and Victor Valley College serves the region from Victorville. EBS groups High Desert campuses into a single route over the Cajon Pass and adds extra entry-mat and dust-mopping work, because desert grit wears down floor finish quickly.

What outside crews usually cover

Public districts often keep in-house custodians for daily work, so contracted crews tend to take on defined pieces of the job:

  • Full programs for private and charter schools and training centers
  • Specific university buildings, such as a leased classroom building or athletics complex
  • Summer projects: floor stripping and refinishing, carpet extraction, high dusting
  • Supplemental coverage when an in-house team is short
  • Event setup and recovery after graduations, games and performances

Supervision and starting service

EBS brings more than 25 years of commercial cleaning experience and a team of over 100 employees to its campus work. People are trained, vetted and background-checked before assignment, and any school-specific clearance is confirmed before the first shift. Supervisors check each campus on a routine cycle and keep a direct line to the facilities contact, and backup staff fill gaps. For the complete task list and how APPA appearance levels set staffing, see the main education cleaning page.

Request a walkthroughAll questions
How do High Desert campuses get consistent coverage from Corona?

Through a fixed route and a fixed crew. High Desert schools and colleges are grouped so the same team travels over the Cajon Pass on a set schedule, backup staff are assigned to that route, and a supervisor inspects there on a regular cycle like every other campus.

Can you clean health-science teaching labs and simulation rooms?

Yes. They are treated as clinical-style space: EPA-registered disinfectants at labeled contact times, bloodborne pathogen precautions under Title 8 section 5193, and a written list of what crews may and may not touch. Sharps and regulated waste stay with the program's own staff.

Do you take on summer floor projects without a year-round contract?

Yes. Floor stripping and refinishing, carpet extraction and high dusting can be booked as standalone projects. EBS can walk the campus in spring, set an order of buildings around summer school and staff training, and plan to finish before teachers return for the new year.

What does a nightly K-12 clean include?

Classroom trash and recycling, desk and touchpoint disinfection, floor vacuuming or mopping, full restroom cleaning and restocking, and cafeteria tables and floors after the last meal. Offices, the library and the gym are added on the frequency the school sets, and anything broken is reported.
