School and University Cleaning in Riverside County

Custodial programs for colleges and schools in Riverside, Corona, Norco, Menifee, Murrieta and Temecula, run from our Corona office inside the same county.

The short answer

EBS Maintenance provides school and university cleaning in Riverside County for university and college buildings, private schools and K-12 campuses in Riverside, Corona, Norco, Menifee, Murrieta and Temecula. Programs cover classrooms, labs, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms and libraries, with after-school crews, day porters and summer projects planned around inland heat. EBS's only office is in Corona, so supervisors and relief staff are never far from a Riverside County campus.

Riverside County's colleges and school campuses

Higher education is one of Riverside's largest employers: the University of California, Riverside and California Baptist University both rank among the city's top employers. Norco College serves the western end of the county, and the Mt. San Jacinto College District, with its Menifee Valley Campus, is one of Menifee's biggest employers.

School districts are just as prominent. The Corona-Norco Unified School District is on Norco's list of top employers, and local school districts rank near the top in Menifee and Murrieta as well. Growing cities such as Menifee keep adding neighborhoods, and with them students, school buildings and after-school programs.

School and university cleaning in Riverside County for a growing region

Growth changes the work. New classroom wings, gyms and administration buildings arrive covered in construction dust, with unsealed floors and glass streaked by trades. EBS handles the move-in clean as a project: dust removed from ledges, vents and fixtures, floors sealed or finished, glass cleaned inside and out, and restrooms brought to daily standard, then the building rolls into the recurring program.

Existing campuses change too. Enrollment shifts can mean repurposed rooms, longer lunch periods and heavier restroom use, so scopes are reviewed each year rather than left as written. University buildings near UC Riverside and California Baptist University add labs, lecture halls and student spaces with evening hours.

Summer heat and the deep-cleaning season

The summer break is when floors are stripped and refinished, carpets extracted and restrooms deep cleaned, and it is also the hottest stretch of the inland year. Empty buildings often have air conditioning set back, and Cal/OSHA's indoor heat rule, Title 8 section 3396, applies once indoor temperatures reach 82 degrees. Crews plan the heaviest work for the cooler part of the day, arrange cooling and ventilation with the facilities team, and take the water and rest breaks the rule requires.

Outdoor lunch areas, quads and walkways are pressure washed at first light under the outdoor heat standard, Title 8 section 3395. Floor finish is applied only within the temperature range on the product label, because finish laid in a hot room can dry unevenly.

Dust at the door

Inland campuses track in a lot of grit from athletic fields, parking lots and nearby construction. That grit scratches floor finish and ends up in carpet, vents and gym floors. Riverside County scopes usually add:

  • Larger entry mats at main doors, cleaned and rotated more often
  • Dust mopping before wet cleaning in hallways and classrooms
  • Scheduled vent and high-surface dusting through the school year
  • Extra attention to wood gym floors, where grit damages the finish fastest

Supervision from inside the county

Field supervisors working out of the Corona office inspect each campus on a routine schedule, record results and corrective actions in eHub, and stay in contact with the principal, facilities director or campus manager. EBS team members are trained, background-checked and wear uniforms on site, and backup staffing covers absences so a campus is never left uncleaned. See the Riverside County janitorial page for building-wide programs and the main education page for the full scope.

Request a walkthroughAll questions
Do you handle move-in cleaning for new campus buildings?

Yes. A new building gets a one-time project clean to remove construction dust, finish or seal floors, clean glass and set up restrooms before staff and students move in. Once it is open, the building joins the campus's recurring schedule with the same supervisor.

How do you keep crews safe during summer work in hot buildings?

By following Cal/OSHA's indoor heat rule, Title 8 section 3396. Heavy tasks are scheduled for cooler hours, the facilities team is asked about cooling or ventilation, and crews take water and rest breaks. Supervisors watch for signs of heat illness, especially on the first hot days.

Can a day porter cover lunch periods at a high school?

Yes. A porter can reset cafeteria tables and floors between lunch periods, check restrooms after passing periods and respond to spills, then hand over to the evening crew at dismissal. Hours are set around the school's bell schedule and adjusted for minimum days.

Do you offer school cleaning services for private schools in Temecula and Murrieta?

Yes. Temecula, Murrieta and the rest of Southwest Riverside County are in EBS's service area. Private schools get the same written scope, background-checked crews and supervisor inspections as larger campuses, sized to their own buildings, enrollment and hours of use.
