School and University Cleaning in Orange County

Custodial programs for Orange County universities, community colleges and K-12 campuses, written around class schedules, labs and the summer break.

The short answer

EBS Maintenance provides school and university cleaning in Orange County for research and teaching universities, community colleges, private schools and K-12 campuses from Fullerton to Mission Viejo. Programs cover classrooms, lecture halls, teaching labs, restrooms, cafeterias, libraries and athletic spaces, with evening crews, optional day porters and summer projects. Crews come from EBS's office in Corona, and field supervisors inspect each campus and log results in eHub.

The campuses that shape demand in Orange County

Orange County has a dense mix of higher education. UC Irvine anchors research and teaching space in Irvine; Cal State Fullerton and Fullerton College are among Fullerton's largest employers; Chapman University and Santiago Canyon College are in Orange; Orange Coast College and Vanguard University are in Costa Mesa; and Cypress College, Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo and Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach round out the list. K-12 districts and private schools fill every part of the county.

Designing school and university cleaning in Orange County

Universities and community colleges here run long days. Lecture halls and classrooms often host classes into the evening, so crews work buildings in sequence as they empty, or split a campus between an evening team and an overnight team. Libraries, student centers and tutoring spaces that stay open late are cleaned last.

K-12 campuses are simpler to schedule but harder on surfaces. Classrooms see food, glue, markers and sick students every day, so desks and touchpoints are disinfected nightly with an EPA-registered product at its labeled contact time, restrooms are fully cleaned and restocked, and cafeteria floors are scrubbed after the last meal service. Day porters can cover lunch and the restrooms during school hours.

Teaching labs, studios and athletic space

Teaching labs are cleaned to a written boundary. Crews handle floors, sinks, trash and the bench surfaces lab staff have cleared, but they do not move chemicals, specimens or instruments, and any spill of an unknown substance is reported rather than wiped. Art studios bring the opposite problem: dried paint, clay and charcoal dust on floors and work tables, which call for scrapers, HEPA vacuums and more frequent machine scrubbing.

Gyms and locker rooms need their own methods. Wood sports floors are dust-mopped with treated mops and never flooded, locker room showers and benches are disinfected, and bleachers and lobby areas are cleaned after games and assemblies.

Keys, clearance and student records

Campus facilities departments control keys and alarm zones tightly, and EBS works inside those rules: keys are signed out and back, buildings are secured in the order the campus sets, and anything unusual is reported to campus security or the facilities contact. For K-12 work, California schools commonly require Department of Justice fingerprint clearance for contractor staff who may have contact with students, and those requirements are confirmed with the school before anyone is assigned. Offices holding student records are cleaned without touching files or papers.

Every EBS team member is screened with a background check, trained and uniformed. Supervisors keep the same people on the same campus, which helps staff, teachers and campus police recognize the crew.

Coverage from Corona

Request a walkthroughAll questions
Do you offer school cleaning services for private and charter schools in Orange County?

Yes. Private and charter schools are a common fit for an outside custodial team, and the scope covers classrooms, offices, restrooms, the multipurpose room or cafeteria, gyms and outdoor lunch areas. Visits are set around dismissal and after-school programs.

Can you provide university custodial services for a single building rather than a whole campus?

Yes. Universities and colleges often contract one building or a group of buildings, such as a research facility, an athletics complex or a leased classroom building. The scope, schedule and inspection records are then set for those buildings alone, and more can be added later.

How do you handle lab spaces in Orange County colleges?

With a written boundary agreed with lab managers. Crews clean floors, sinks, trash and cleared bench tops, wear the protective equipment the lab requires, and leave chemicals, samples and equipment alone. Unknown spills are reported to the lab contact instead of cleaned.

What does summer work look like for a school?

Summer is when hard floors are stripped and refinished, carpet is extracted, high areas are dusted and restrooms get a deep clean. EBS plans the order building by building so rooms needed for summer school or staff training are finished first.
