Colton warehouse cleaning

Warehouse Cleaning Services in Colton, CA

Floor, dock and racking cleaning for Colton's distribution and cold-storage buildings, planned around round-the-clock shifts and the grit that rail and truck traffic brings.

The short answer

EBS Maintenance provides warehouse cleaning services in Colton, CA for distribution centers, cold-storage facilities and light-industrial buildings near the I-10 and I-215 junction. Programs combine machine scrubbing of concrete floors, dock and bay cleanup, racking-lane sweeps and high dusting with restroom and break room care for every shift. Crews work in the windows your operation allows, and each visit is recorded for your safety and operations leads.

Freight at Colton Crossing and what it leaves on the floor

Colton's industrial economy grew up around freight. Colton Crossing, the junction where Union Pacific tracks now cross the BNSF line on a flyover, is in the city, and I-10 and I-215 meet here as well. Distribution and cold-storage operators, including Lineage Logistics and Ashley Furniture, are among Colton's biggest employers.

For a warehouse, that location means steady truck traffic and the fine grit it carries. Tires bring it across dock plates, open doors let it blow in, and during Santa Ana winds it piles into corners and coats the tops of racking. Left alone, it grinds into sealed concrete, dulls the finish and makes painted aisle lines harder to read.

Cold-storage rooms need their own method

Temperature changes the cleaning plan more than almost anything else. Wet scrubbing that works in an ambient aisle can leave a film that freezes in a freezer room, so cold zones are cleaned with methods and products suited to low temperatures, at times agreed with your operations team.

Dock doors between a cooler and an open yard collect condensation, which mixes with tracked-in dust into a slick, dark film. Those transition strips are checked on every visit. Time inside freezer rooms is planned in short blocks, and the scope records the protective clothing your site requires. The walkthrough maps every temperature zone so staffing and products match the building.

Warehouse cleaning services in Colton, CA: the core scope

Each zone of the building gets its own tasks and frequency. A typical Colton distribution site breaks down like this.

Zones, tasks and reasons
ZoneWhat the crew doesWhy it matters
Ambient warehouse floorMachine scrubbing, tire-mark removal, pallet debris swept upKeeps forklift traction and floor markings reliable
Docks and baysShrink wrap, banding and broken pallet pieces cleared; dock plates scrubbedDock edges are where trip hazards collect fastest
Racking lanesSwept and scrubbed in sections as they are releasedKeeps debris out of pallet jack and forklift wheels
High surfacesRacking tops, beams, ledges and light fixtures dusted on a cycleStops settled dust dropping onto stored goods
Restrooms, lockers, break roomsCleaned and restocked at the shift changes you chooseUsed by drivers and staff at every hour

Working between shifts at a site that never closes

Many Colton distribution buildings run continuously, so cleaning is fitted into the quietest windows rather than a fixed night. EBS plans floor work aisle by aisle with your shift lead, sets out cones and signs on wet floors, and stays out of active forklift traffic until an area is released. Weekend slowdowns, where a site has them, go to the jobs that need the most floor time, such as full-building scrubbing and high dusting.

Summer heat is part of the plan as well. Title 8 section 3396, Cal/OSHA's indoor heat illness standard, applies once indoor temperatures reach the thresholds set in the rule, which can happen in warehouses without air conditioning. Heavy machine work is moved to cooler hours where the schedule permits.

Capacity and records for large footprints

Big distribution buildings need a contractor who can staff them without stretching thin. EBS has serviced more than 10 million square feet, including one contract covering over 1 million square feet, and its supervisors log inspections, corrective actions and completed periodic work in eHub. Backup staffing fills absences, so one missed night on a large floor does not become a missed week.

Request a walkthroughAll questions
Can you scrub floors in a cold-storage warehouse?

In ambient areas, yes, with standard machine scrubbing. In coolers and freezers the method depends on the room temperature and your operator's rules, and it is agreed at the walkthrough so nothing is left on the floor to freeze.

How do you avoid disrupting forklift traffic?

By working only in sections your shift lead releases. Crews check in before entering an aisle, mark wet areas, and move to the next zone once it is clear. The biggest floor jobs are booked for the slowest part of the week.

Can dock aprons and truck courts be pressure washed too?

Pressure washing is one of EBS's specialty services and can be added to a warehouse program for dock aprons, entries and walkways. It is normally booked on a periodic schedule and, in hot months, early in the day.

Are driver restrooms and break areas part of the program?

Yes. Restrooms, locker rooms and break areas used by drivers and warehouse staff are cleaned and restocked at the shift changes you pick, because a site running through the night cannot wait until morning for a restroom to be serviced.
