Green Cleaning Services in San Diego County

Biodegradable products, HEPA vacuums and lower-waste supplies for research campuses, downtown and Mission Valley offices, hotels and South Bay sites.

The short answer

EBS Maintenance offers green cleaning services in San Diego County for life-science and tech campuses, offices, hotels and public buildings, using non-toxic, plant-based products, HEPA-filtered vacuums and, on request, recycled paper and refillable dispensers, with practices aligned with LEED and WELL. EBS also runs ISO- and GMP-aligned cleanroom programs, so it knows where green products belong in a research building and where a lab's own protocol takes over. Crews travel from our Corona office.

Green cleaning services in San Diego County's research and tech districts

Carlsbad names clean technology and life sciences among its key industry clusters, and the Palomar Airport Road business parks hold many of those companies. Sorrento Valley and Sorrento Mesa, Torrey Pines Mesa in La Jolla and the Golden Triangle around UTC add biotech, research and technology campuses beside UC San Diego, and Rancho Bernardo's business park brings corporate and tech offices along I-15.

Beyond the research corridor, green programs fit downtown's government and office towers, Mission Valley's offices and Hotel Circle lodging, Kearny Mesa's mixed commercial base, El Cajon and La Mesa in East County, and Chula Vista and National City in the South Bay.

Office side and lab side: two product lists

Research buildings combine ordinary office floors with labs and, in some, cleanrooms. Green products suit the office side. The lab side follows the tenant's environmental health and safety rules and, in controlled environments, EBS's ISO and GMP-aligned cleanroom practices, which can call for specific disinfectants, non-shedding materials and logged cleaning. Keeping the two lists apart is what lets a research tenant go green without compromising its labs.

LEED green cleaning for clean-tech and corporate tenants

In buildings rated under LEED or WELL, the cleaning contractor's products and methods become part of the record. EBS works to practices aligned with both systems and will supply a product list and a description of its equipment, so your sustainability team can document the program. The rating itself stays between the owner and the certifying organization.

Hotels, conference space and visitors

Tourism is one of San Diego's largest sectors, and the Gaslamp Quarter, the Marina district, Hotel Circle in Mission Valley, Shelter Island, Coronado and the Chula Vista Bayfront all depend on visitors. Hotels and conference spaces can use green products in lobbies, meeting rooms, corridors and back-of-house areas, with refillable dispensers and recycled paper in public restrooms on request. Event rooms are reset between bookings with low-fragrance cleaners.

Organics, supplies and the coast

California's SB 1383 has businesses separating organic waste, so crews keep trash, recycling and organics in their own streams from the break room to the dumpster. In a coastal county, cleaning water also needs care: it goes to a sanitary drain, never into a storm drain that leads to the bay. Biodegradable chemistry and refillable supplies reduce what leaves the building in both water and waste.

Supervision and starting a program

Supervisors check green programs during routine inspections and record them in eHub, with each corrective action followed to the end. Team members learn the product lists before assignment, are background-checked and wear EBS uniforms, and backup staff work from the same lists. Programs can run overnight, in the evening, in daytime or on weekends.

Request a walkthroughAll questions
Can a biotech company use green cleaning without affecting its labs?

Yes, by keeping office and lab areas on separate product lists. Green products go into offices, lobbies, break rooms and restrooms, while labs and controlled areas use only what the tenant's safety team or cleanroom protocol specifies. The scope maps each room, and supervisors check it during inspections.

Are green products effective against germs?

General green cleaners remove soil and many germs with it, but they are not disinfectants. Where disinfection is needed, such as restroom touch points, door hardware and shared equipment, EBS uses EPA-approved disinfectants. The scope decides where each kind of product is used, room by room.

Do you offer green cleaning for hotels and event space?

Yes. Lobbies, meeting rooms, corridors and back-of-house areas can all move to green products, and public restrooms can switch to refillable dispensers and recycled paper on request. Event rooms are reset between bookings from the same product list, with EPA-approved disinfectant kept for high-touch points.

How do you handle cleaning water near the coast?

It goes down a sanitary drain, such as a janitor's sink, and never into a storm drain. Storm drains in San Diego County carry runoff to creeks, the bay and the ocean without treatment, so mop water and other cleaning water stay out of them. Biodegradable products further reduce the impact once that water is treated.
