San Diego County disinfection
Disinfection Services in San Diego County
High-touch disinfection for downtown hotels, South Bay border businesses, clinics, campuses and shared research buildings, scheduled or on call.
The short answer
EBS Maintenance provides disinfection services in San Diego County for hotels and venues, offices near transit hubs, border-area retail, medical offices, campuses and the shared spaces of research buildings, using EPA-approved products on high-touch surfaces. EBS has more than 25 years of commercial cleaning experience and public-sector experience, and its programs run on a fixed schedule or on call, with supervisor inspections recorded in its eHub system.
Disinfection services in San Diego County's visitor and transit hubs
Downtown San Diego concentrates visitors: Gaslamp Quarter hotels, the San Diego Convention Center, Petco Park and the Port's cruise terminals along the waterfront. Mission Valley adds the Hotel Circle lodging corridor and three regional malls on the Green Line trolley. Further out, the UTC, Oceanside and Escondido transit centers bring steady foot traffic to nearby offices and shops.
In these settings the priority is volume. Restrooms, elevator buttons, door pulls, front desks and guest service counters are touched constantly, so they are treated on every visit, and hotel common areas and meeting space can be added to an electrostatic schedule between events.
Border-area offices and retail in the South Bay
The City of San Diego describes the San Ysidro Port of Entry as the busiest international border crossing in the world, and the Las Americas outlet center, San Ysidro Boulevard and the transit center beside the crossing see that traffic every day. Otay Mesa, home to the commercial crossing for trucks, has customs brokerage offices, logistics companies and manufacturers with public-facing counters and busy restrooms.
Businesses here usually need more frequent touchpoint and restroom disinfection than a typical office, sometimes with a daytime pass on top of the nightly clean.

How often common surfaces are treated
Frequency follows use. These are typical starting points, confirmed at the walkthrough.
Whatever the frequency, each product stays wet for the contact time on its label. Near the coast, damp marine air slows evaporation, so treated surfaces are left to air-dry rather than wiped dry early, which keeps the full contact time intact without leaving streaks on glass or stainless steel.
| Surface group | Office | Medical office | Hotel or venue |
|---|---|---|---|
| Door hardware and elevator buttons | Each cleaning visit | Daily after patient hours | Daily, plus during events |
| Restroom fixtures and partitions | Each cleaning visit | Daily | Daily, plus during events |
| Breakroom appliances and counters | Each cleaning visit | Daily | Back-of-house daily |
| Waiting and lobby seating | Weekly | Daily | Daily |
| Conference and meeting tables | Each cleaning visit | Daily | Between events |
Research buildings: disinfection versus cleanroom work
Sorrento Valley, Torrey Pines Mesa and the Golden Triangle are full of buildings that mix offices, breakrooms, shared corridors and controlled labs. Routine disinfection covers the shared and office side: door hardware, restrooms, breakrooms, conference rooms and lobby surfaces. Classified cleanrooms and GMP suites are a separate program with its own gowning, sequence and logs, so the two never share tools or crews on the same pass.
Clinics, campuses and government offices
Medical offices near Rady Children's, Kaiser Permanente San Diego Medical Center in Kearny Mesa, Scripps Memorial in University City, Sharp Grossmont in La Mesa and Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside need waiting rooms and exam rooms disinfected after patient hours. Campuses including UC San Diego, Cal State San Marcos, Palomar College and Southwestern College suit electrostatic treatment of classrooms. Downtown's city, county and federal offices and the County of San Diego complex in Kearny Mesa bring public counters and security rules that EBS's public-sector experience covers.

Questions we hear
Still not sure? A supervisor can answer at the walkthrough.
Request a walkthroughAll questionsCan green products be used for disinfection?
Partly. Green, non-toxic products are available for general cleaning, but disinfection needs an EPA-registered disinfectant. Some registered products carry EPA's Design for the Environment logo, which marks a lower-hazard profile, and they can be used where they cover the organisms of concern.
Do you disinfect shared areas in multi-tenant biotech buildings?
Yes. Lobbies, corridors, restrooms, breakrooms and conference rooms in shared lab buildings are disinfected on the landlord's or the tenant's schedule, whichever holds the contract. Controlled labs and cleanrooms are only entered under a separate cleanroom scope that follows the tenant's own procedures and access rules.
Do you offer electrostatic disinfection for hotels and meeting space?
Yes. Ballrooms, meeting rooms, fitness areas and lobbies can be treated with electrostatic application while empty, usually overnight or between events. Front desks, door hardware and restroom fixtures are still wiped by hand, because those surfaces need cleaning as well as disinfection.
Which parts of San Diego County do you cover?
All five subregions: North County Coastal and Inland, Central San Diego, East County and the South Bay. That runs from Oceanside, Carlsbad and Escondido through Downtown, Mission Valley and Kearny Mesa to El Cajon, Chula Vista, Otay Mesa and San Ysidro.
