Museum and Gallery Cleaning in Los Angeles County
Cleaning programs for Los Angeles County museums, galleries, design showrooms and arts venues, sized for anything from a campus to a single room.
The short answer
EBS Maintenance provides museum and gallery cleaning in Los Angeles County for large institutions, independent galleries, design showrooms and performance venues. Programs cover gallery floors, display case exteriors, glass, restrooms, lobbies and event spaces, scheduled mainly before opening or after close, with daytime porters where visitor numbers call for them. Crews follow written rules for each room and never handle artwork or objects.
Cultural districts and what each one asks of a cleaning crew
Los Angeles County has dense clusters of cultural buildings, and each has its own practical problems. The table pairs the main districts with the adjustments a program usually needs there.
| District | Typical spaces | Program adjustments |
|---|---|---|
| Miracle Mile (Museum Row) | LACMA, the Academy Museum, the Petersen Automotive Museum and the La Brea Tar Pits along Wilshire | Heavy weekend footfall, large lobbies and restrooms, event nights |
| Brentwood | The Getty Center and nearby campus buildings | Long walking routes between buildings, stone and glass surfaces |
| Downtown Arts District and Historic Core | Galleries in converted industrial and early 20th-century buildings | High dusting, sealed concrete floors, older fixtures |
| NoHo Arts District | Theaters, galleries and recording venues near the North Hollywood station | Post-show resets and late-night trash removal |
| West Hollywood | Design showrooms around the Pacific Design Center on the Avenues of Art and Design | Daytime presentation, storefront glass, showroom floors |
| Downey and San Gabriel | The Columbia Memorial Space Center and the historic Mission District | School-group restrooms, gentle care of older surfaces |
Subway riders and heavier traffic on Wilshire
The D Line extension that opened in May 2026 added stops at Wilshire/La Brea and Wilshire/Fairfax, right on Museum Row. More visitors now arrive on foot from the stations, and walk-in traffic brings street grit and rainwater straight into lobbies. Programs here lean on deep entry matting, mats vacuumed or swapped during the day, a porter checking restrooms through visiting hours, and dust-mopping of gallery floors every night so grit never builds into scratches.

Galleries inside converted industrial buildings
Many Los Angeles galleries, especially in the Downtown Arts District, occupy former warehouses and factories. These rooms have tall ceilings, exposed ductwork, skylights and sealed or polished concrete floors. Dust collects on overhead pipes and beams and drifts down onto work below, so high dusting with HEPA-filtered equipment is scheduled between exhibitions, when the walls are bare and nothing sits on the floor.
Concrete looks tough but shows every scuff, and some sealers react badly to strong cleaners. Crews use neutral cleaners and microfiber mops, keep auto-scrubbers away from installed work, and touch up scuffs from crates and lifts after each install.
Museum and gallery cleaning in Los Angeles County, sized to the building
A large institution may need an overnight crew for galleries, a separate team for offices and education rooms, and porters on the floor all day. An independent gallery may need three evening visits a week and a monthly glass and floor detail. Both get the same written protocols, the same background-checked and uniformed team members, and supervisors who log every inspection and corrective action in EBS's eHub system.
Event calendars drive the rest of the schedule. Openings, rentals and fundraisers get a setup check beforehand and a reset after, with food waste removed the same night.
Covering a county this size from one office
EBS runs every program from its single office in Corona and plans routes so the same crew reaches your building on the same nights. That matters in a county where a Westside museum and a San Gabriel Valley mission site are a long drive apart. Backup staff cover absences, field supervisors visit on a routine schedule, and urgent problems such as a burst pipe in a lobby restroom go to a priority line that answers around the clock.

Questions we hear
Still not sure? A supervisor can answer at the walkthrough.
Request a walkthroughAll questionsDo you clean galleries in converted warehouse buildings?
Yes. Former industrial spaces need high dusting of beams, ducts and skylight frames, careful care of sealed concrete, and scuff removal after installs. Crews schedule overhead work between exhibitions, when the walls are clear and no artwork is on the floor below them.
Do you also clean design showrooms in West Hollywood?
Yes. Showrooms on the Avenues of Art and Design are cleaned much like galleries, with a focus on storefront glass, display surfaces approved by the showroom, restrooms and floors. Many showrooms want work done before opening so the space is ready for appointments during the day.
How many crews does a large museum campus need?
That depends on gallery area, visitor numbers and how many buildings the campus has. Large sites often combine an overnight gallery crew, a team for offices and classrooms, and daytime porters. The walkthrough maps every building and room type so the staffing plan is based on your site.
Can you clean after evening openings and private rentals?
Yes. Post-event cleaning is booked around your rental calendar, including late finishes. Crews clear catering waste, reset restrooms and lobbies, and check any gallery used for the event, so the building opens on time the next morning without visible traces of the night before.
Do you serve museums in the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys?
Yes. EBS covers Los Angeles County from Downtown and the Westside to the South Bay, Southeast Los Angeles and both valleys, including North Hollywood, Pasadena and San Gabriel. Teams travel from the Corona office, and the walkthrough confirms the schedule for your address.
