Medical Office Cleaning in Encino, CA
Clinical cleaning for the practices that make health care Encino's largest employer, scheduled after the last patient leaves.
The short answer
EBS Maintenance provides medical office cleaning in Encino, CA for physician practices, specialty clinics and outpatient suites along Ventura Boulevard, in a neighborhood anchored by Encino Hospital Medical Center. Crews clean waiting rooms, exam rooms, restrooms and staff areas with EPA-registered disinfectants left on for the label's contact time, follow bloodborne-pathogen precautions written into the scope, and stay away from patient records. Cleaning is usually scheduled after the last appointment and inspected by a supervisor.
Encino's medical landscape
Health care is the leading source of jobs in Encino. Encino Hospital Medical Center anchors the neighborhood, and medical offices line Ventura Boulevard alongside banks, professional offices and shopping centers. When a practice shares a building with non-medical tenants, the cleaning has to change protocol at the suite door: different products, a different room order and a different checklist.
Neighboring Tarzana, with its own hospital campus, and Sherman Oaks are served the same way, by teams sent from the EBS office in Corona.
Medical office cleaning in Encino, CA, room by room
The walkthrough decides how each room is treated. A procedure room that one practice opens to the cleaning crew may be off-limits in another, and the scope records the difference.
| Area | Category | How it is cleaned |
|---|---|---|
| Waiting room and check-in | Non-clinical, high-touch | Chairs, armrests, counters, pens and door handles disinfected; floors cleaned; trash removed |
| Exam and procedure rooms | Clinical | Exam tables, counters, sinks and switches disinfected; floors damp-mopped with disinfectant |
| Patient restrooms | High-risk touchpoints | Fixtures, grab bars and flush handles disinfected; dispensers restocked |
| Nurse stations and labs | Restricted unless approved | Cleaned only where the practice has cleared access; equipment left alone |
| Staff breakrooms and offices | Non-clinical | Office-standard cleaning; charts and papers left where they are |
Disinfectants and contact time
A disinfectant only works if the surface stays wet for the contact time, or dwell time, printed on its EPA label. Spraying and wiping straight away removes dirt but does not disinfect. Crews use EPA-registered products on high-touch and clinical surfaces and apply enough that the surface stays wet for the labeled time.
Order matters as much as product. Rooms are cleaned from cleaner areas toward dirtier ones and from high surfaces to low, and cloths and mop heads are changed between rooms so soil from a restroom never reaches an exam table.

Bloodborne pathogens, waste and privacy
Cal/OSHA's bloodborne pathogens standard (Title 8 section 5193) sets how employers protect workers who may contact blood or other potentially infectious materials. For a cleaning crew in a medical office, that means gloves and other protective equipment, treating any visible blood as infectious, and a set procedure for spills.
Waste has firm limits. Crews remove ordinary trash and recycling and wipe the outside of waste containers in non-hazardous areas; sharps containers and regulated medical waste stay with the practice and its licensed medical waste hauler.
Privacy is part of the job. Crews do not read charts, screens or appointment lists, leave papers in place, and keep what they see in the practice to themselves.
Cleaning around patient hours
Most Encino practices are cleaned in the evening once patients have gone, so exam rooms can be disinfected without interrupting care. Practices with Saturday clinics or extended hours may need an overnight or early-morning shift, and a day porter can keep waiting-room touchpoints and restrooms in order between patients.
A field supervisor inspects the work through EBS's eHub system, with corrective actions logged and closed. Backup staff cover absences, so a clinic is not left uncleaned before a full day of appointments.

Questions we hear
Still not sure? A supervisor can answer at the walkthrough.
Request a walkthroughAll questionsDo your crews clean exam rooms?
Yes, when the practice includes them in the scope. Exam tables, counters, sinks, door handles and floors are disinfected with EPA-registered products at the label's contact time. Medical equipment and supplies are left untouched unless your staff ask otherwise.
Will you remove sharps containers or medical waste?
No. Sharps and regulated medical waste stay with the practice and its licensed hauler. EBS crews handle ordinary trash and recycling and wipe the outside of waste containers in non-hazardous areas.
Can cleaning happen while patients are in the office?
Some of it can. A day porter can handle waiting-room touchpoints and restroom checks during clinic hours. Exam and procedure rooms are normally cleaned after hours so disinfectant can stay wet for its full contact time without delaying appointments.
How do you protect patient privacy?
Crews are background-checked and trained not to read, move or photograph records, screens or schedules. Rooms that hold records can be locked or excluded, and the scope lists exactly which rooms crews may enter.
Are your products suitable for patients with sensitivities?
Green, non-toxic and biodegradable products can be used in waiting rooms, offices and breakrooms on request. Clinical surfaces need an EPA-registered disinfectant suited to the setting, and the walkthrough settles which product is used where.
