Pasadena has several distinct business districts: Old Pasadena, the original downtown; Playhouse Village; and South Lake Avenue, which the city calls its corporate center. Major employers include Caltech and the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory it manages on the city's northwest edge, Kaiser Permanente, Huntington Hospital and Pasadena City College, and the city lists higher education, research and development, health care and financial services among its leading industries. Facilities range from offices, labs and bioscience space to hospital campuses, college buildings, hotels and the Pasadena Convention Center.
